About David
David Neuman is a senior cybersecurity, operational technology, and business leader with 40 years of experience pioneering cyber operations, business resiliency, and transformation. He has demonstrated the ability to inspire functional and matrixed teams to operate, improve, and secure multi-billion-dollar enterprises from cyber exploitation.
David founded Road Rocks Services, LLC, which focused on helping clients deliver business outcomes and exceed performance expectations. His firm provides advisory solutions to deploy and enhance cyber operations, CISO services, business resiliency planning, and executive coaching. As a Senior Research Analyst for TAG Infosphere, he advises Fortune 500 enterprises on technology and resiliency strategy and evaluates cyber vendor solutions. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio, teaching concepts and methods in cyber operations. The basis of all his work is the value he can add and give back so that others may succeed.
Previously, David led security strategy and operations for a 60-billion-dollar global supply chain as the VP & Business Security Officer at a Fortune 50 company. His responsibilities included the security of operations to design, source, make and deliver over 57 million units annually.
David was also the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at two Fortune 500 companies. At iHeartMedia, he built the company’s first cyber and product application security programs. He also served as the CISO for Rackspace Hosting, leading full-spectrum cyberspace defense operations that protected the company and over 300k customers globally from material damage during multiple acquisitions and high-risk business transactions. He was also an Executive Director and COO of America’s Cyber Practice at EY. David led the industrialization of the Americas Practice with 200 consultants, operationalized four sub-competencies, and developed growth plans aligned to a 500-million-dollar revenue goal. He was also the principal advisor to Fortune 1000 Audit Committees, Boards, and C-Suites on the cyber threat landscape.
He held numerous U.S. Air Force positions of increasing responsibility and scope, including commanding the Air Force’s first cyber hunting unit and authoring the concept of operations for Active Cyber Defense. David has served in 14 countries and on three combat tours. He has led diverse multi-national teams, including humanitarian operations in Central America, and delivered 300-million-dollar technology programs in Southwest Asia to support global combat operations.
David earned a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, where he was a Distinguished Graduate, a Master of Science in Security Administration from Bellevue University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Studies from the University of Maryland. He also holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
