About Mike
Mike Chibbaro brings more than four decades of leadership, consulting, and executive development experience shaped by his tenure as a senior partner at Ernst & Young (EY). Over the course of a 31-year career with the firm, he held key national leadership roles and advised some of the nation’s most respected healthcare organizations on strategy, ethics, and corporate compliance.
During his time at EY, Mike served as Americas Advisory Quality and Risk Management Leader and Americas Advisory Learning and Development Leader, as well as a member of the firm’s Partner Advisory Council and Strategic Alliance Committee. He co-led EY’s national initiative to design and deliver corporate compliance and integrity programs, helping more than 50 healthcare and insurance organizations strengthen governance and meet rigorous federal standards. His work also included guiding companies under Corporate Integrity Agreements with the U.S. Office of Inspector General (OIG) and supporting boards in fulfilling their fiduciary responsibilities under those agreements.
A frequent speaker on leadership, ethics, and organizational culture, Mike was recognized with EY’s “Lifetime Educator Award” for his enduring commitment to learning and development. He later channeled his passion for storytelling and mentoring into a second career as a senior business facilitator with Battlefield Leadership, where he helps executives and teams translate lessons from history’s defining moments into practical strategies for modern business challenges. He also provides one-on-one executive coaching and leadership consulting to senior leaders across industries, known for his ability to connect deep business insight with a human-centered perspective.
Beyond his professional work, Mike is the author of three sports history books: The Mighty Generals: A Story of Basketball Championships and Racial Unity in the Deep South; The Cadillac: The Life Story of University of South Carolina Football Legend Steve Wadiak; and Voices from Meadowbrook Park: Memories of Greenville, South Carolina’s Historic Baseball Park.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Carolina and is a retired Certified Public Accountant. He lives with his family in Greenville, South Carolina, where he remains active in community, charity, and ministry initiatives. His passion for storytelling and faith continues to shape his perspective on leadership – grounded in humility, integrity, and the belief that great leaders are those who never stop learning.
