About Tom
Tom Coburn is a seasoned finance executive with over two decades of experience leading strategy, M&A, and financial transformation for global enterprises. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Selig Group, a worldwide leader in materials technology, where he oversees corporate finance, strategic investments, and enterprise growth initiatives. Since joining Selig in 2020, Tom has played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s expansion through disciplined financial management and value-driven acquisition strategies.
Before joining Selig Group, Tom built a distinguished career in investment banking and private equity. As a Director at Baird’s Global Investment Banking division, he led M&A and equity transactions exceeding $10 billion in aggregate value, advising companies across industrial, materials, and technology sectors. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Associate at Mid Oaks Investments, where he evaluated and executed middle-market private equity investments, and began his professional journey with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Transaction Services, focusing on complex M&A diligence engagements.
Tom holds both his MBA and BS in Business (Finance and Accounting) from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he graduated with high honors and earned Beta Gamma Sigma recognition. Known for his analytical rigor, collaborative leadership, and strategic foresight, Tom brings a rare blend of operational discipline and deal-making acumen to every boardroom he joins. His experience across corporate finance, private equity, and global capital markets positions him as a trusted advisor in driving sustainable growth and shareholder value.
